The concept
Our key role is to provide a sports programme enhances students' studies and quality of life in general. We provide advice and support to university members on sports and health-related issues. We are a not-for-profit organisation and are therefore very cost-conscious.
Goals
We are committed to ensuring that students see sports as a meaningful activity and participate actively.
We help HSG members to achieve a better quality of life through sports.
We are committed to a sports programme that provides a good work-life balance and encourages reflection on the lack of movement so common in today’s professional and academic worlds.
We support an active, dynamic lifestyle. To achieve these goals, we provide a varied sports programme. Our programme is divided into the following categories:
- Health: we create health-driven activities that compensate for the primarily intellectual and sedentary activities of university members.
- A culture of play: we ensure that fun and friends are the focus.
- A culture of sports: we support competitions and competitive sports, representing the St.Gallen universities nationally and internationally.
- Expression: we offer sports that allow physical expression.
We critically evaluate developments in the sports world and are open to new ideas.
Our programme ensures there are opportunities for exercise and chances to meet up between faculties and universities.
We respect the environment and place huge emphasis on the green aspects of sports.
We encourage socially-minded behaviour, in particular with regard to fairness, so that participants are considerate and appreciative of one another during training, competitions and matches.
We partner with sports bodies and sports associations at the local, national and international levels.
